For Artists
Your music. Your catalogue. Your call.
Talent is a streaming platform built for African artists. Upload your own recordings, reach listeners across the continent, and keep control of everything you publish. Free to join, no gatekeepers.
How it works
Step 1
Create your account
Sign up free with an email or Google. Pick the artist account type and choose your stage name — that becomes your public URL.
Step 2
Upload your tracks
MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, AAC or OGG up to 50 MB. Add cover art, genre, lyrics and a description. Your music goes live immediately — no approval queue, no gatekeeper.
Step 3
Get discovered
Your tracks appear in charts, new releases and genre pages. Listeners find you through search and follow you to stay in touch.
Step 4
See your numbers
Play counts, listener countries and growth over time — all visible from your dashboard. The numbers are real, because that is the whole point.
Why Talent
You keep ownership
You own everything you upload. Talent holds a non-exclusive licence to stream it on the platform, and that licence ends the moment you take a track down.
Nothing is taken from you
Listening is free and there is nothing to pay. Talent earns no money from your music today. Paid downloads and a subscription tier are the next phase, and the split will be published in full before anyone opts in.
Every African genre
Amapiano, Gqom, Afro House, Kwaito, Maskandi, Gospel, Afrobeats, Hip Hop, R&B, Reggae. The genres that get an afterthought on global platforms are the point here.
Questions artists ask
Does it cost anything?
No. Creating an artist account and uploading music is free, and there is no charge to listen. Talent earns nothing from the platform at present. Advertising, subscriptions and paid downloads are all planned rather than running.
Do I need to be signed to a label?
No. Talent is built for independent artists. If you are signed, check your label agreement before uploading — you need to own or control the rights to everything you publish.
What audio formats can I upload?
MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, AAC and OGG, up to 50 MB per track. Cover art must be at least 640×640 pixels and 5 MB or less.
Can I take my music down?
Yes, at any time. Unpublishing a track immediately stops streaming for everyone, including people who already have the page open. Your catalogue is yours.
When do payments start?
Paid downloads and a subscription tier are the next phase. When they launch, the terms and revenue split will be published clearly before you opt in. Nothing is deducted or promised before then.
